The following positions are some of the specific openings we currently have within our volunteer programs. These positions offer room and board and, in some cases, a small stipend. Unless otherwise indicated, these are seasonal positions beginning in spring and continuing through the end of the summer. Intern/Work Exchange Positions - Abode Farm

The Abode of the Message is seeking 3 individuals interested in community living to assist our farmer grow quality produce on a 5-acre organic farm, from May-October 2010. The successful applicants will be energetic, have a good work ethic, and demonstrate teamwork. They will have the opportunity to learn about biodynamic and sustainable agriculture, vegetable and seed production and soil enrichment.  Positions open: one (1) intern with small stipend (40 hour week), and two (2) work-exchange positions (30 hour week). Programs Assistant - Programs Office

Provide support to our busy programs office during the summer season performing a variety of administrative and hospitality functions including: respond to telephone and e-mail inquiries relating to programs and ongoing events at the Abode, prepare housing lists, staff lists and other documentation for programs, assist with registration for events, greet visitors, and perform general reception duties. Must have good MS Office skills including Word and Excel, strong customer service orientation, and excellent organizational skills. Room and board provided.

Office Assistant - Sufi Order International

Provide administrative and clerical support to the headquarters of the Sufi Order International at the Abode of the Message. The ideal candidate for this position is self-motivated and can pitch in on a variety of projects and tasks ranging from answering the phone and making copies, to assisting with office reorganization projects and our summer retreat. Must have good MS Office skills including Word and Excel, strong customer service orientation, and excellent organizational skills. Room and board provided.
